Travelling with the Doctor was boring. Mostly because he had no control over the destination, location, time, what they wore, when they left, what they ate, what they drank and basically anything actually. Even if the Doctor look at him with that annoying fake smile and pretended like it was all the Master's choice.
Was it any shock that during a particularly dull trip in New New York where the Doctor was saving the day that the Master scrambled the bracelet keeping him stuck to the Doctor and ran away. And while one might of assumed he'd leave the planet, he didn't. Funnily enough.
It wasn't till the late hours, when the planet had gone dark, that the Master was to be found lying on a park bench, smiling brightly and watching the stars. So bright, so beautiful! He wanted them all. What a brilliant night with was. Way better than the morning, that had been awful. But who cared now? He was much better!
