Jack raised an eyebrow at John's suggestion that he was blackmailing him. "I run a shadowy organisiation that completely ignores most laws and you think that blackmail is beneath me?" He laughed a little. "We kill people sometimes too. Think it through." But at least John was cooperating. He shifted a little to get a better look at his leg.

The Doctor seemed to have done a pretty good job in patching him up, though he had no idea how bad the damage had been before. "Friends help out. We used to be friends once, if you remember." He opened his Vortex manipulator to scan him and assess any potential permanent damage. "I helped you get away with loads of things before. You loved it."
